The family of Private 1st Class Chase Simmons, 23, has invited the PGR to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
PFC Simmons served his country with the 65th Medical Brigade of the US Army. Stationed in South Korea for a year-and-a-half as a behavioral health specialist, he was passionate about helping soldiers overcome PTSD and worked with many on suicide prevention.
Chase was home for the holidays when he was severely injured in a traffic accident on the night of 3 DEC 2015. This hero spent the past 15 months fighting for his life and was medically retired on 14 FEB 17. Sadly, Chase lost that battle just 3 weeks after being retired.
Chase’s mother has been by her son’s side since his accident. She has asked the PGR to accompany her son from the church service to the cemetery; both are in Ramona.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
