The grandchildren of Robert Paulson Dunn have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the services of their loved one and to honor this American Hero.  We are honored to do so.

Robert left school to join the US Army in 1936 and was in the Field Artillery. He was there for 2 years then returned home to care for the family after the passing of his father. When WWII was declared, he returned to duty in April 1943 for another 2 years and was sent to Europe where he was trained as a Military Policeman and served under Omar Bradley and later General George S. Patton in the 2nd Armored Division.  His WWII campaigns took him from the US to England then finally Germany.  He participated in the the Normandy Invasion D2 as an MP with Charley Company 509th MP Company guarding prisoners, handling traffic, and locating medics and supplies.  His awards include the WWII Victory Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp.  When Robert returned from the war he drove trucks for over 65 years.  He was involved in many organizations including the Loyal Order of Moose (where he served as Governor), the VFW Upland Post, the Teamsters, and the Disabled Veterans.

Robert is survived by his sister Delores Lemke, Granddaughter Robin Rodriguez and spouse Richard, 3 more grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 15 great great-grandchildren.
