The family of CS1 Richard Allen Williford, USN (AD) has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor him for his service to our country. It would be our honor to do so.

Culinary Specialist First Class Richard Allen Williford, 43, a native of Brownfield, Texas served his country for 13 years in the US Navy, time that included deployment to the Gulf of Aden aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Somerset. The Somerset was named in honor of the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 during the September 11 attacks of 2001 whose actions prevented the plane, hijacked by terrorists, from reaching their intended target forcing the airplane to crash in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Richard was an active member of the Green Knights Motorcycle Club here in San Diego where he was known as “Monkey”. His brothers in the club may want to honor Monkey by riding in our procession.

The Texas Panhandle PGR will be at the airport for CS1 Williford's arrival in Lubbock and will accompany him and family to his home town of Brownfield.  They will also be present to honor him at his funeral service when it occurs.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero from the funeral home to Lindbergh Field for his final flight home. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
