The Patriot Guard have been invited by the son of Felix R. Duran to participate in his father's final military honors. It would be our honor to do so.
Felix was born November 20th, 1916 and passed June 19th, 2017 at over 100-1/2 years old.
As a member of the Greatest Generation he served his country proudly in the US Army during World War II. Felix was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska (still not yet a state) as a Coastal Artilleryman. He served from October of 1940 until he was honorably discharged in 1945.
Felix was preceded by a son, Carlos, 12 years ago. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Ana M. Duran. He is also survived his son, Jerry G. Duran, who requested this mission, his three daughters, Martha Munoz, Rosie Sanchez, and Anita Sencion and his 30+ grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He and his wife, Ana, were self-employed by their cleaning equipment and supplies sales business.
Felix's Army service was echoed by son Jerry, who retired after a career in the US Army. His grandson, Jerry's son, is currently following that same path, also serving in the US Army. He is home on emergency leave to honor his grandfather.
We are truly blessed, as Patriot Guard Riders, to attend the military honors being accorded Felix Ramirez Duran with his family and friends.
