The family of AD1 Craig Ashley Brown has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Craig (Packrat) Brown proudly served in the US Navy from September 1969 to July 1989 and achieved the rank of ADI AW (Aviation Machinists Mate Petty Officer 1st Class).  For his service he was awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit award, Armed Service Expeditionary medal (2nd), National Defense service medal, Navy Expeditionary medal (3rd), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2nd), Battle "E" sea service medal, Good Conduct Medal (3rd).   

After retiring from the US Navy Craig spent several years with the Army Corps of Engineers digging up unexpended ordnance in San Diego at the Old Camp Elliott Artillery Range in Tierrasanta.
 
In 1994, Craig was hired by the United States Border Patrol, San Diego sector, and Imperial Beach station. Craig was fortunate enough to spend 20 years working.  Craig retired from the US Border Patrol on December 31, 2013.
 
Throughout his life Craig enjoyed riding his several Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, with his brothers of "Just Ridin" Motorcycle Club of Southern California.

Craig is survived by his sisters Barbara May (Richard) and Diana Setness both of Colorado.  His longtime friends of decades Paul “Sandy” Crowl,  Friends Bill and Cathy Hagadone, Fred and Debbie Murray, Ken West and the entire West family of Oak Harbor Washington.  Extended family includes Doug La Rock, his son LTJG Doug La Rock II his wife Kayla and children Doug III, Julian, (Mr. Bean), Elliana (Ellie Bell), and Kristian. His Club brothers of “Just Ridin“ Motorcycle Club of Southern Calif.

The family has requested a Flag Line Only at Miramar National Cemetery.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will honor him at Miramar National Cemetery with a Flag Line where he will receive military honors. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
