On Saturday, 8 February 2014, the PGR has been invited to participate in the DAWGS ON HAWGS War Dog Memorial and to honor USMC Cpl Max W. Donahue - the first MWD Handler killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010.
The Dawgs Project launches each year with events of a War Dog Memorial to all United States Military Working Dog Handlers of all generations.
The PGR will form a flag line at the Marine Corps Memorial Gardens, MCB, Camp Pendleton honoring the dedication of the Dawgs Of War Memorial Monument.
From the War Dog Memorial, the PGR will do an accompaniment to the Provost Marshals Military Working Dog Section (8.5 miles) for a Memorial/Flag line service in honor of USMC Cpl. Max W. Donahue, the first MWD Handler killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010.
This will be a unique opportunity for PGR members to meet and greet today’s front line MWD Community.
