The Dana Point (Ca) 5th Marine Regiment Support Group has raised the funds for a memorial honoring the USMC "Fighting Fifth" (1/5, 2/5, 3/5 and the 2/4) who fell in Vietnam. This Vietnam War Memorial has a total of 2705 Marines and Sailors names on it and the PGR is honored to bring them back to their origins as Marines, Camp San Mateo. Weighing in at over 100,000 pounds and costing more than $300,000.00, this was no small task. And, once again, the Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to provide an escort across our great country from Barre, Vermont to Camp Pendelton, CA for this very meaningful monument. It is scheduled to be delivered to Camp Pendelton on 29 March, National Vietnam Veterans Day.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
