The family of Luther Walker Phillips, 79, USN, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one at his services. We are honored to accept this invitation.  We will accompany our Hero and his family from the Funeral Home to the church in Wildomar, CA, a four mile ride, and after services, from the Church to his final resting place.  Mr. Phillips was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wildomar.

Luther was born and raised in Alabama, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1953 and was honorably discharged at the rank of MM3 in 1956, and settled in Southern California in 1957 after his discharge from the Navy.  He rode Harley Davidson's for 57 years, was an active member of the VFW, and a licensed lathe and plastering contractor for the last 55 years.  He was a proud Navy Veteran, who’s love of this country was passed on to his children, with both of his sons serving in the military.  He also has a grandson currently serving as an Air Force Captain deployed to the middle east in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

He is survived by his four children: Dawndra of Cherry Valley, CA;  Michelle of Wildomar, CA;  Chris, US Navy Veteran of Hemet, CA;  Michael, US Army, Murrieta, CA and 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.
