The family of TSGT Michael Lewis Rohrman. has graciously invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the services of their hero. It would be our honor to do so.
Michael Rohrman joined the Army of the United States (AUS) in Dec. 13 ,1966, and was discharged Aug. 3, 1968. He was to serve in the reserves until 1972. He was given the choice to join the regular Army at the end of his current enlistment for two yrs. to shave time off of the reserves. He quickly signed up again for 2 yrs. and another tour in Vietnam. His final discharge came in late 1972.
While serving, Michael was attached to the 64B20 Heavy Vehicle unit in Vietnam at which time he became a heavy equipment driver.
Upon Michaels second deployment he was attached to the 91st Engineer group at which time he earned the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service medal along with the Combat Drivers Badge.
Michael was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then moved to Long Beach, Calif. and later on moved to Garden Grove, Calif. where he spent over 40 yrs. of his life. Michael was an avid motorcycle rider owning several bikes over his lifetime, and rode like there was no tomorrow. He was overheard saying "If you are having a bad day get on the bike it will get better".
Michael was also a successful business man for over 50 yrs. in the trucking industry. He worked for most of his time at Rudds Transfer and Storage in Long Beach, Ca. Mike also owned a home in Sturgis, SD just to stay in touch with the biker community.
Michael is also a very dear friend to one of our own PGR members and Ride Captain, "Candyman".
Michael is survived by his wife Mary Ann Rohrman, and his two sisters Marti Babbitt and Patricia Phares. He also has two daughters Dana Miller and Kimberly Casares, 6 Grandchildren, and 15 Great Grandchildren. He is definitely going to be missed.
There will be a short service at the "Church of our Fathers" at the West End of the Cemetery.
The burial will also be at the same cemetery. We will accompany the family upon completion of their service.
