The family of Steven Pettersen, 47 yrs old, have asked us to be present to honor their Hero at his Memorial and we would be honored to do so.

Steven Pettersen served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger Infantryman from Jan 1986 to Dec of 1989. He received the following Expert Qualification Badge (M-16, M-60, Hand Grenade)//Army Service Ribbon // Parachutist Badge//Expert Infantryman Badge// Ranger Tab // Army Good Conduct Medal
He was honorably discharged in 1989 at the rank of SGT.  He served as a loyal Ranger and was injured in a accident caused by nature during jungle exercises in Panama when he suffered a severe head injury, while his best friend perished.  He loved being a Ranger, and everything in his being was about the Army Rangers.

He was a good and reliable employee, working at companies such as Baskin Robbin's, where he became known to family and close friends as "The Ice Cream Man" ; Pepsi, where he was a delivery driver, and then later on, as an electrician while studying in College to be a Physical Tharapist and X-Ray Tecnician.
As a family man and friend to many, Steve was loved by all, and he showed nothing but love to everyone in his circle, while easily making friends at anytime. He always had a huge smile on his face and was a carefree and worry free person. He loved camping, fishing, and being outdoors at all times, and was a very resourceful person who could live off the land. His biggest simple pleasure was to spend time with family and friends. Steve remained a Patriot to the end, and loved the American Flag and the Bald Eagle. He saved and displayed flags and pictures of Eagles for display in his room, and on his car.

Steve is survived by his son Christopher,19, mother Clara Diaz, sisters Teresa Diaz and Lacey Diaz, and many many friends throughout So Calif, in the VA Hospital, and in Georgia (near the Ranger School).

This will be a Flag Line only at the memorial where Military Honors will be rendered by an Honor Guard.
