The family of James William Clark Jr. has invited the Patriot guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Jim Clark, 71, served his country in the USCG from 1966 to 1970 and in the reserves from 1970 to 1972.  Jim was stationed at Port Hueneme and Ballast Point Light Attendant Station here in San Diego. Jim served aboard the Coast Guard cutter Cape Jellison out at sea, was a rescue diver in search & rescue duties and worked on drug reconnaissance. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal. Jim descended from several generations of seamen - Jim's father served in the Coast Guard and grandfather in the Merchant Marine. Jim's father was a USCG Chief at Cape Disappointment, WA.

In civilian life Jim worked at San Diego Transit for 35 years as a Telecommunications Technician and Foreman. His hobbies were spending time with his wife and family and beloved cats Oscar, Cowboy, and Cassidy, traveling with his wife Jane in their 5th wheel across the country, living on and improving his ranch house in Julian, listening to all types of music, cooking and barbequing gourmet food and boating.

Jim is survived by his wife, 2 brothers, 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The family has requested an accompaniment from Poway Bernardo Mortuary in Poway to a 1400 committal ceremony at Miramar National Cemetery, a distance of approximately 12 miles.

For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
