The family of Jose M Lopez (Age 72) has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Jose was in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971. Jose was a Specialist 4th Class at the time of his honorable discharge.

Jose served in Vietnam from 66-67 with 1st Infantry 2nd Battalion 28th Infantry Regiment “Black Lions. Where he was an Army RTO (Radiotelephone operator). He was a part of Operation Attleboro and Operation Junction City, where he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal with “V” device for heroism. According to his DD-214, he also received a Bronze Star.

Jose worked for San Bernardino County Regional Parks as a Park Ranger. He also coached basketball teams in Yucaipa, CA. He was also involved with providing moral support to local veterans at the Loma Linda Veterans hospital.

Jose, is survived by his wife Dana, sons Bryon, Abraham, and daughter Brandi Wright. He had 7 grandsons and 3 granddaughters.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
