Per request of our good friend and PGR member Gregg “Digger” Walker (Walker Family Funeral Services), the family of Jerry D. Blacksher has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders to honor this American Hero; it will be our honor to do so.

Jerry was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on 07 August 1948.

Jerry enlist in the U.S. Army following high school and served with A Battery, 65th Artillery Division with a specialty in the Hawk Missile launches. Jerry was also a Radar Mechanic while in the Army.

After the military Jerry worked with the Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer in Southern California.

While working with the Department of Corrections he would meet and marry his wife Linda. 

Jerry is survived by his wife of thirty plus years, Linda and sons Brian and Nicholas. He also leaves behind a grandson and his brothers Jim and Mike who are both veteran as well.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the American Legion Post 200, Lake Elsinore to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

The weather is predicted to be hot so please stay hydrated and don't forget to eat; it can make a difference with your ability to withstand the heat.

1030 – KSU to assigned Shelter for Flag line, Service and Military Honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
