The family of Michael Mauricio Estrada has invited his PGR family to honor him for his funeral services, it would be our privilege to do so.

Michael "Mike" Estrada was born on February 2, 1956 in Santa Ana, CA. On September 10, 2018, Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep, how he always said he wanted to go.

At the age of 18 in 1974, Mike enlisted in the United States Army. He served 2 years active duty and 4 years in the reserves. Mike completed his basic training at Fort Ord. He then completed infantry and weapons training at Fort Polk in Louisiana.  Mike was stationed in Baumholder Germany, where his wife and son, Cyndi and Michael Jr., were able to join him. Mike proudly represented the 8th Infantry Division.

After his honorable discharge from active duty and returning from Germany, Mike attended Rosston Barber College in Long Beach, CA. Mike was a barber and men's hairstylist for over 40 years. He also enjoyed coaching his kids in baseball and softball and owned and operated a family business for over 10 years.

Mike was a very proud and Patriotic American Veteran. He enjoyed talking about America and he also loved to share his strong faith in God and his country.

Mike was a proud member of the American Legion China Post 1. He was also a member of the American Legion Riders and Patriot Guard Riders.

Mike and Cyndi were high school sweethearts and married for over 45 years. Mike and Cyndi loved riding their Harley, from short trips to Cook's Corner to road trips to Yosemite, the Sequoias or Lake Tahoe. No ride was ever too far.

Most Wednesday evenings, you could find Mike and Cyndi at the Orange Plaza participating in the flag ceremony and exchanging military and life stories with his plaza family.

Mike was a strong man that always vocalized and fought for what he believed in. Mike had a gift of making people laugh or making them mad, either way he always left a lasting impression.  Mike would proudly say, "You either love me or hate me." And he was okay with either one.

Cyndi, his wife, said do not mourn Mike. but celebrate his life and memories as he is now in the arms of the Lord. Honor him by always fighting for what you believe in and never give up, always fight until the end.

Michael is survived by his wife Cyndi, three children Michael Jr., Lynda, Natalie, Granddaughter Jade, Mother Dora, Sister Gloria, Brother Robert, and two nephews Randy and Marcus.  Mike loved family, friends and spending time with his granddaughter, Jade. Mike will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and PGR brothers & sisters.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran and PGR Member.
