The family of Robert Paul Kaniski has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor this American hero, it will be our honor to do so.

Robert "Bob" Kaniski, 79, served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was inducted on April 14,1952, and served through May 13, 1955. Bob met his wife, Nellie, while serving; Nellie was also a Marine.

In his civilian life Bob served the public in many ways including his time with the Orange County Marshall's Office. He was also a Motor Officer for the City of Orange, he worked with the Orange County Search & Rescue Unit and he worked security for Chapman University - World Campus Afloat.

Bob had many talents and interests. He was a Freelance newspaper photojournalist, a Boy Scouts Troop Leader, a pianist and a cartoonist.  He also enjoyed woodworking, gun collecting and making model airplanes.

Bob is survived by his wife Nellie, daughters Mary Jean Lueras and Patricia Ann Sullivan,  son David Andrew Kaniski, brothers William J. Kaniski and Stephen Kaniski ll,13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.



Services will be Friday, 28 FEB 0800 at Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church, 21682 Lake Forest Drive, Lake Forest, CA.

NOTE: Please arrive quietly as services will be in progress.


NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will accompany the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
