The family of Robert F. Wyda has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one at his final service. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Robert enlisted in the US Navy in 1958 and served 8 yrs, then transferred to the US Air Force and served another 16 yrs for a total of 24 years. He retired Feb 1982 at the rank of MSgt (E7). He received the Meritorious Service Metal (Oak Leaf Cluster), Air force Commendation Metal (Oak Leaf Cluster), Good Conduct Medal (Navy and Airforce with Bronze Stars), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award (5 Oak Leaf Clusters).

After his military service Robert went to work for the Federal Government as a budget/comptroller until retirement.  In his spare time and in his retirement Robert enjoyed many hobbies.  He was a Numismatist (accredited coin appraiser), a good bowler (average of 192), a miner, a coin collector, a golfer and an antiques collector.

Robert is survived by his wife Tsumeno, 2 sons Charles & Robert Jr., 3 daughters Jean, Juanita and Ellen, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place, approx. 90 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
