I've been thinking of you a lot since Memorial Day. I'm so grateful you insisted on being involved with Jim's memorial.
Recently some friends and my brother came and I showed them the pouch you gave me and shared what I learned about the significance of the three spent shells. Also the beads representing the most important medals.
It was good to share that info with someone. That pouch has been a very personal talisman for me. I was glad to see how their eyes got wide with wonder as I told the story. (They're all civilians.)
Tell your group they had a big impact on me that day, and, with the pouch their impact continues.
