The family of retired Master Sergeant Anderson Joseph Jackson Winston, age 85, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him at his funeral service, it will be our honor to do so.

MSgt Anderson J.J. Winston enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1949 and served 24 years until his retirement in 1973.  He served during both the Korean War and Vietnam War Eras.  He was stationed in Thailand and at Vandenberg AFB in California. MSgt Winston loved his military career, his favorite assignment, according to his family, was working on the Atlas 5. To this day his family cannot see a rocket go up without thinking of their Dad.

After retirement from the military he enjoyed his retirement years. He loved his family, bowling, fishing, camping, and reenacting the 1800 mountain man era. He was a proud member of the Lompoc Muzzel Leaders Club.

MSgt Winston leaves behind our mother, his love of over 70 years, his wife of 64 years, Frances (Poochie) Winston.  Son to Ethal Jones and Anderson Jackson Joseph Winston Sr., Father to Patricia Gibson (deceased), son Anderson Jackson Joseph Winston III (wife Jenny), Daughters Darlene Lomans, Doreen Brown and Terri Owens, brother to Kenneth and Clayton, sisters Barbara and Kathy, grandpa to 13 grandchildren, great grandpa to 28 great grandchildren, great great grandpa to 2.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
