We have been invited by Command to support the Marine Spouses of MCAS Miramar this Friday, 28 MAR 14 by attending their
3d MAW Spouses Sports League
"FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS" football tournament!
This Friday, the Spouses of 3d MAW Marines stationed at MCAS Miramar will be participate in a Flag Football team event intended to develop camaraderie and build "Espirit de Corps"! This will consist of 9 teams in a single-elimination tournament format. The teams and coaches have been established as squadrons. At the conclusion of the tournament, the winning team will be presented with a trophy, medals, and prizes. There will be food and drinks, Bouncy houses and rock walls for kids.
The games start at 1445 but at 1915 The 3d MAW Band and Color Guard will perform the National Anthem. After which, the Commanding General will speak and the Championship Game and Trophy Presentation will follow.
They would like us to participate in the Flag Line if possible but they mainly would like us to be there to join in the fun, meet and great the Marine spouses and their families.
If you would like to attend, you may do so at any time but please be at the Field by 1845 for the National Anthem and Flag Line if possible.They have instructed us to enter through the MCAS Miramar east gate off Kearney Villa Rd, turn right on Mitscher Rd and Left of Baaur Rd. and find the MSC field located near the corner of Anderson Ave and Bauer Rd. (SEE MAP BELOW) There is parking to the east and south but there is also a firelane to the east of the field for bike access.
There will not be a Ride Captain coordinating this event for our members, please attend if you can and brig your flags!
