The family has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present and accompany their hero, Tommie Hilzendeger, from Lancaster to Riverside National Cemetery. We are honored to do so.
SP4 Tommie Hilzendeger served in the US Army from 09/03/1968 until 05/09/1970, serving in Vietnam. He was awarded National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of SP4.
Tom worked for the LA County Water Reclamation Dept. Tom loved classic cars, motorcycles, fishing and camping. His real passion was Veterans. He started a non profit organization in 2009 called Vets4Veterans to raise money to help veterans get back on their feet. He spent the last 10 years of his life dedicated to this cause! If there was a veteran in need they could count on the fact that Tom would go out of his way to get them help no matter the need.
Tommie is survived by his wife of 39 years Megan, 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

You have to go out...but you do not have to come back..
You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
