The family of Michael Lee Bowen, 73, has invited the PGR to participate in honoring his life and service to his country. It will be a privilege to do so.
Michael Bowen proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a CPL E-4. He served during the Vietnam War from August 1964 to August 1968. During his honorable service Michael received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device, Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.
After Michael's honorable service he went on to work for the Automobile Transport Company for 30 years. Michael was very passionate about drag racing. Not only did he enjoy watching the races he also participated in them on drag bikes and drag cars. Michael participated in many races on the Brotherhood raceway on Terminal Island and was friends with the legendary Big Willie Robinson. Michael was a member of the Brotherhood Street Racers and will be deeply missed.
Michael is survived by his lovely wife Janise, Son: Douglas Bowen Daughter: Tomasa Bowen Richmond, Son-in-law: James Richmond Granddaughter: Palani Richmond. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Jack, Yvonne, Diane, Douglas, Gerald, Velleria, and Elizabeth.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
