The family of Hector Delgadillo, 79, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him for his Military Service and Law Enforcement Service. It is our honor to do so.
Hector was born February 19, 1941 to Emilio and Carmen Delgadillo, in Colton, California. He graduated from Colton High School and San Bernardino Valley College. Hector married his wife Wanda on September 15, 1984.
Hector served 31 years in the United States Army Reserve from 1964 to 1996. He attained the rank of Sergeant Major at the time of his retirement in 1996.
After his active duty service to our country Hector worked at the Colton Unified School District as a Bus Driver. In 1979 he went to work for the San Bernardino Sheriff Department and worked there for 24 years and retired as a Sergeant in 2001.
Hector loved to volunteer his time to St. Catherine of Siena School, where his daughter Vanessa attended and his grandson's Isaac and Aidan attends, he has spent over 20 years volunteering his time to include President of the PTG and participating in various fundraisers such as working the firework booths and bake sales.
Hector also earned his Associates of Arts in Liberal studies. He loved to travel, he loved amusements parks and rollercoasters the bigger and faster the better. He loved classical musical and his favorite artist was Andre Rieu. He loved going to car shows in his 1966 Mustang. Hector was a fun loving person and full of life.
Hector is survived by his wife Wanda of 35 years, a daughter Melissa Schroeder and her two children Lillian and Ryan, a daughter Vanessa Delgadillo and her two sons Isaac and Aidan, a son Bob Mitchell and his son Lucas.
Hector was loved by many. We will honor his service to our country and his community, and ask that you honor his life by keeping his memory alive.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to his final resting place, approx 23 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
