The family of Mario Albert Guzman has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one. It will be our honor to do so.
Mario was born on 11 July 1955 and entered into Eternal Rest on 5 August 2020 due to Covid-related pneumonia.
Mario served in the Marine Corps from 1974 to 1976 and the Army Reserves from 1981 to 2007. When he was enlisted in the Marine Corps, he was stationed in Vietnam during The Fall of Saigon. During his enlistment in the Army Reserves, he served during the following conflicts: 1984 Persian Gulf War, 1990 Saudi Arabia Desert Shield, 1991 Iraq Desert Shield, 1998 Afghanistan, 2001 War on Terror, 2003 Iraqi Freedom, and 2005 Egypt.
His awards included: Army Achievement Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (6th Award); National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/ M Device; Multinational Force and Observers Medal. He never told his family about receiving a Bronze Star. When he was awarded the Bronze Star, he did not want it presented in front of his troops or in any kind of ceremony.
After his Military Service, Mario worked as a machinist for 20+ years working for a company called Meyercord. He was a very humble man. His retirement life was devoted to his family. He taught 3 of his grandchildren to drive. Walked 2 of his godchildren down the isle of marriage, and he was a mentor many.
Mario is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elva Guzman, his son Alberto E Guzman, two daughters, Marlene Guzman and Marisa A Guzman, and 7 grandchildren.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
