**********Urgent Notice Time Change**********

Mike Merrikena a retired SDFD Fire Captain and whom is very involved with the Patriot Guard, has invited the PGR to honor Bill Dowling, "a hero".  Bill Dowling, a former USMC Sgt. and Houston Fire Captain was involved in a major fire in Houston last year that took the lives of 4 firefighters on his crew.  Bill was critically injured before being rescued.  He lost both of his legs and sustained serious brain injuries.  He has limited mobility, however, he has requested being able to attend his son's graduation at MCRD and through various donations, he and his family will be able to attend!  I believe the CO will even make a few remarks and Bill and his family will be in the VIP section.

Due to Bill's heroic service, both military and fire department, The Patriot Guard, along with Wind and Fire Motorcycle group will accompany Bill and his family from their Holiday Inn Hotel, 4875 Harbor Dr. san Diego for the short trip to MCRD, where we will perform a flag line as Bill and family exit their vehicles at MCRD for the graduation.
 
The Patriot Guard has also been invited to attend the graduation, which starts at 10:00 a.m.  All riders please have vehicle registration, Proof of insurance and drivers license ready at the gate, in the event it is asked for at the gate entrance.

NOTE:  This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Wounded Warrior and to attend the graduation at MCRD.  For those interested, and all are welcome, please see time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).
