The family of LCpl William Victor Tarozzi II, age 26, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their Hero as he receives his funeral services and military honors. We are privileged to do so.
LCpl William "Billy" Tarozzi had always dreamed of being a Marine from a very young age. He enlisted shortly after High School and the proudest day of his life was graduating from Boot Camp. He had served for 1 month after Boot Camp when tragically he was involved in a car accident. He was in a coma for 16 days and spent 6 months in the hospital which left him with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
After recovery he tried to return to regular duty, as being a combat Marine was all he ever dreamed about, he was not able to and was assigned to Alpha Company, Wounded Warrior Battalion at Camp Pendleton. He served there for 2 years, 1 month, from time to time still trying to return to regular duty, to no avail. So he decided to make the most of his time and became a morale buddy of sorts to the other Marines. He would go around every day checking on them, making sure they were ok. He was credited more than once with saving another Marine's life just by being there, just by listening.
Finally, he was evaluated at 90% disabled and honorably discharged on a medical retirement.
Billy tried to go on with his life but never got over not being able to serve as a regular Marine. Even though he would check on all the other Marines at the WW Battalion, sometimes taking their pain on as his own, he could never find his path back and finally fell into deep despair and became one of the "22 a day".
Billy is survived by his father Bill and mother Maria. He was an only child, never married, and had no siblings. Billy embodied everything that a good man and a good Marine represented, he will never be forgotten by those who knew him, or by us, the PGR, who are honored to be there for his final honors.

For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
