The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of retired MSgt George Drakeford, 84 years old, to be there for his funeral service to honor him, we are privileged to do so.
MSgt Drakeford served as a United States Marine for 20 years, from 1954-1974. He served two tours in Vietnam. He received many awards and medals during his 20 years of service, a highly decorated Hero. He retired in 1974 at the rank of Master Sergeant.
After serving in the military, George studied Real Estate. He started as an Agent, became a Realtor Broker, then had his own Brokerage Firm and Investing Company. He did that for 25 years. He kept actively investing until his last days. He loved spending time with his family and on his time off he enjoyed playing Dominos, and listening to Blues music with his Family and Friends.
George is survived by his wife of 58 years Juanita, and his daughters: Joi Drakeford and Patrice (Drakeford) Le Goy, grandson Noah Le Goy and son-in-law Keith Le Goy. He is also survived by siblings: Josephine, Paula, Michael, Alan,Kenny and Donald as well as a host of family and friends.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the chapel service to his final resting place, approx 4 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
