Collaborate on Medal of Honor Recognition Ceremony


President Barack Obama presented the Medal of Honor to 24 service members from WWII and the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam at a White House ceremony March 18.

This is the largest Medal of Honor recipient group in modern history.  All 24 names plus the names of two recipients from Operation Enduring Freedom, the conflict in Afghanistan, have been added to the National Medal of Honor Memorial at Riverside National Cemetery, bringing to 3,506 the number of names etched into the black granite.
The celebrate this milestone and to recognize the two sons of Riverside, Jesus Duran and Salvador Lara, who are among the 24, the City of Riverside and Riverside National Cemetery are collaborating on this to recognize this historic event: 

•   A recognition ceremony April 27 at 10:00 a.m., on the plaza in front of the Medal of Honor Memorial at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside
