The family of Joseph Mario Grillo, AKA "Mott", age 102, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany this member of the Greatest Generation to his final resting place, we are honored to do so.
Joseph Mario "Mott" Grillo enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in March, 1943 and served in Europe during WWII in Special Vehicle Operation until his honorable discharge in November, 1945 as a Private First Class. He was awarded a EMAE Ribbon and a Victory Medal.
Mott was a boxer both in the military and in civilian life when he got out. He got into boxing at the flyweight and lightweight levels. He boxed locally for 10 years, under his nickname Mott Grillo, and, later, as Mott “Wildman” Grillo. His name appeared in the sports pages numerous times.
Mario was a Farmer/Rancher in the Jurupa Valley area of Riverside, where he was born and raised, he also was a FMC Corporation Steel Worker. Hobbies included Hunting, Fishing, Inventing, Guns, Dancing, Building, Working on cars and motorcycles. In his younger years he was a leader of a motorcycle club.
Mario is survived by his wife of 70 yrs Gladys, children Pam Livingston, Gailene Elliot, Randy Grillo, Tony Grillo, predeceased by two children Gina & Jimmy. Number of Grand Children 8. Number of Great Grand Children 8

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
