The family of Allen Saul has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so

Saul was born in Torrance on 08 March 1955 and entered into Eternal Rest on 26 December 2020.

Saul was beloved and known to family as “Manny” and to friends as “Saul”, grew up in Twenty-Nine Palms.

Saul graduated from Sherman Indian High School in 1973. He was involved in many school activities that included Football, Basketball, Letterman, and Student Council.

A U.S. Army Veteran from 1976 to 1979, a Tribal Elder of the Quechan Indian Tribe in Yuma, Arizona, and Native American Spiritual Leader, Saul was a Substance Abuse Counselor that was known to answer every call for help be it on the clock or off. Not only was he a Counselor, but he was also a Sundancer and Eagle Whistle Carrier.

Saul learned many trades throughout his life until he started his career in Behavioral Health Services as a Chemical Dependency Substance Abuse Counselor. He worked for Riverside/San Bernardino County Indian Health Inc. for the past twenty-five years.

Saul had become a strong spiritual leader and Sundancer for over 30 years after meeting Uncle John Funmaker. He joined the Iron Circle Nation and was a founder of the Thunder Cloud Clan. Saul dedicated his life to helping, praying, sharing, listening, and talking with the community. Saul loved and cherished his family and friends, and he was loved for being a very kind and caring man.

Saul is survived by his companion of twenty years, Louise "Lu" Marquez, and stepson Gabriel. He also leaves behind sons Gideon, Marcus and Joseph Saul; his daughters Veronica, Lovina, Sherina and Sheila Saul; and their mother Veronica R. Espinoza; sons-in-law Al and Rupeti; his mother Muriel Bryant McGee, sisters Gloria and Evelyn McGee, brothers Ronald Jones, Gary Bryant, Ahmad McGee, and Harry McGee. Saul "Papa" had many grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Saul is preceded in death by his son Donovan Thomas, grandsons Brevin Saul and Devin Ross, his sister Merle McGee, his grandparents Harry and Evelyn Wheeler, his father Allen Saul, Sr. and his stepfather Al McGee Jr.

A Public Drive-Up viewing will be held on Saturday, 23 January 2021 from 1100 hours to 1500 hours on the Santa Rosa Indian Reservation, at the Santa Rosa Tribal Building.

A private family burial will be held on February 6, 2021.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the Inland Memorial Harford Mortuary, Hemet to the Santa Rosa Indian Reservation for a Public Drive-Up Viewing. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.

0900 – KSU to Santa Rosa Tribal Building, Santa Rosa Indian Reservation, Idyllwild, CA (Rez Riders, IMC will be taking the lead on the accompaniment)

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.
