The family of SSG John James O'Hern, 62, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero as he receives his final Military Honors, we are honored to do so.
SSG John O'Hern enlisted in the US Army in 1977 and served 23 years, finishing his career with 23 years of total service, including time in the Army National Guard. He retired from the military at the rank of Staff Sergeant. John was activated and deployed to Iraq at the start of the Global War on Terror in 2003 and served there til 2004.
After his active duty time in the Military, John worked for the Veterans Administration in Loma Linda in the maintenance department for over 25 years until retirement. He was very proud of his son Shawn who also served in the Military in the Air Force and is also serving his community as a Law Enforcement Officer.
John is survived by his wife Delia and his son Shawn, and many other family members and friends. He was loved by all and will not be forgotten.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
