The Family of Orville George Pruett, 97, USN, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the Service
of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It is our honor to do so.
Orville proudly served with the US Navy from 17 November 1942 to 08 June 1946 being stationed in
Asiatic-Pacific Area, American Area, during World War II. During his service he went to school for
boilermaker (point system) and as a welder. His rank was Fireman First Class USNR V-6
EBON-39 Detail, Ship repair unit, Navy 146 at the time of his discharge. He earned the World War II
Victory Medal.
After his service in the Navy, Orville continued to use his skills as a welder until he retired. His hobbies
included fishing, hunting and trap/skeet shooting. He is survived by his wife: Wanda ( they celebrated
their 75th anniversary last year), their daughter: Sheilah, 2 grandsons: Chris and Colby and 4 great
grandchildren.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members
are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first
mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).
Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to
attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our
Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep
radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember,
cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are
honoring
