The family of Raul J. Atilano has invited the Patriot Guard to join them as they honor and bid Farewell to their hero. We are honored to do so.

While serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1971, Corporal Atilano served one tour in Vietnam as a Tunnel Rat carrying a .50 Cal Machine Gun. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal.

After leaving the military, Raul spent most of his working life as a truck driver. He loved many things, such as, old cars and Harley motorcycles.  He also loved fishing and camping, but most of all he loved his family.

Raul is survived by his wife Evelyn Atilano, his three children Andrew (son), Shannon (son), Kianna (daughter), and 11 grandchildren.

Raul passed on the day of his 45th wedding anniversary but was lucid enough to tell his wife he loved her and Happy Anniversary. Cause of death was respiratory distress and a blood disease, possibly related to Agent Orange exposure but not proven.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the family home to the church, please see the time table below.
