The family of CDR Richard Ross Brydges, 76, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
After high school, Richard attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell New Mexico, NMMI, and played football, basketball and track for 1 year. He then accepted an appointment to the US Naval Academy, Annapolis, USNS, in Maryland and played Football for the Naval Academy.
Post-graduate he began serving in the Navy, and after earning his wings, he then deployed to Squadron VA-82 in the Tonkin Gulf flying A-7 Corsair and landing on Aircraft Carriers. Richard Served until he retired in 1992 after 25 yrs of service and had achieved the rank of Commander.
Richard Brydges was an entrepreneur, educator, consultant, author and publicist. He was the Executive Director of the Institute for the Advancement of Leadership, Academic Chair and Lead Faculty for Graduate Strategic Management at the University of Phoenix, and Chief Strategic Management for ARC leadership Group,Inc. His academic background includes a B.S. in Engineering from the US Naval Academy, an M.S. from the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, an MBA from the University of West Florida, and a PHD in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego. He currently serves the Chair of Global Business Leadership for the International Leadership Association, a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences on business leadership.
Outside of work, some of his favorite hobbies were Football, Tennis and Basketball. And a interesting highlight is that he performed a great and accurate Elvis impersonation!
CDR Brydges is survived by his wife Carolyn , daughters Kelly and Megan and Son Brooks and 8 beloved grandchildren.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
