6th Annual Salute the Military Race Day Event, San Diego, CA - 17 MAY 14
On Saturday, May 17th the 6th Annual "Barona Race Day Salute to the Military" will be hosted at the Barona Drag Strip in San Diego! The past 5 years have been such a success for our military families and local drag racers that they are back for another exciting year of racing! Military families will be treated to an experience that they cannot find anywhere else in San Diego. Barona Race Track offers a 1/8 Mile Drag Strip where all the action will take place.
This is a special event for military families who live in Lincoln Military Housing. Lincoln Military Housing has 32 facilities in the greater SD area and Arizona where approx 9,000 military families live. They expect 1,000+ Military families to attend this event.
This is a great opportunity for us to Salute our Military Families but also to get the word out to the Military and local organizations about the PGR and what we do!!There will be a ceremony held to Salute the Military and their family members for their support and sacrifice. The Ceremony will begin at 1:30pm and will feature the MCRD SD Color Guard. We have been invited to take part in the ceremony. We will roll onto the Drag Strip and "make a lot of noise" then line up the bikes and form a flag line. Please bring your big flags for your bikes and have a flag for the flag line. The MCRD will present colors and we will stand a flag line during the national anthem.
The event coordinators have graciously arranged for us to receive free entry, free lunch and free event T-shirt! We will stage nearby and ride in together as a group and enter through the VIP gate.
There is a short dirt road so be prepared. Once on site they will have a canopy set up for us and an area to kick back. The main drags start after the ceremony, you are free to stay and watch the races plus there will be many fun family events going on!
The San Diego "Boot Girls" from Boot Campaign will also be in attendance!!NOTE: This notice is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring our Military Families. For those interested, we will stage at location below and ride in together as a group,
you must attend mission briefing and ride with the group to access the event without paying entrance fee and gain entrance via the VIP gate. Please see time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
