The family of Ricardo Tijerina has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany him to his final resting place, we are honored to do so.

Ricardo Adolfo Tijerina of Guadalupe, CA., and formerly of Lompoc, CA., and Laredo, TX. Passed at the age of 83 on Sunday,  August 29th 2021, in Santa Maria, CA.

Ricardo was born in Laredo, Texas, on December 8, 1937, to the late Alvaro and Socorro Tijerina.

He was a 1957 graduate of Martin High School.  He went on to join the United States Air Force with his twin brother, where they both served together.

After the Military, he worked for ITT at Vandenberg Air Force Base, and retired after 35 years. 

Ricardo’s family always came first, and he was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, father to his children and grandfather to his grandchildren. He was also a community member of the American Legion Guadalupe chapter. 

Ricardo was preceded in Death by his beloved parents: Alvaro Fernando Tijerina and Maria del Socorro Martínez De Tijerina, his beloved sister Leonor Estela (Tijerina) Sullivan and beloved brothers Eduardo Humberto Tijerina and twin brother Rolando Alvaro Tijerina and beloved granddaughter Diva Marie Tijerina.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Dolores Tijerina of Guadalupe, CA., son Richard J. Tijerina (Marcelina) Tijerina and their children: Tatianna, Liliana, and Drake all of Santa Maria, CA., daughter Monette E. Tijerina of Lompoc, CA., and son Robert R. Tijerina of Santa Maria, CA.  Siblings, Virginia T. Coe, Dennis (Marta) Tijerina, Cindy (Frank) Aguilar of Laredo, Texas and Diana T. Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas.  Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
