David Max Brooks, 57, US Navy - Fontana/RNC - 23 Sep
« on: September 19, 2021, 05:46:15 PM »
We have been invited by the family of David Max Brooks to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.  It will be our honor to do so.

David was born on August 2, 1963 and passed away at the young age of 57 on May 19, 2021 from heart failure.

David Brooks served in the U.S. Navy from April 7, 1986 to April 6, 1990.  David served aboard the U.S.S. Lexington in Pensacola, Florida as Boatswain Mate 2nd Class.  He was the lead Petty Officer in charge of the life boats as well as the safety officer.  He was awarded a Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal when he and a few others boarded a foreign ship that was not properly tied down and stopped it from causing too much damage to other ships moored there. He was awarded the Coast Guard SOS Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.

After his military service, David worked for 16 years at Parco, Inc. as a Lab Technician until his stroke on September 7, 2016.  Dave loved music. He loved going to concerts, playing his bass guitar and writing songs. He also loved to share his faith in Jesus with others.

David is survived by his spouse, Terri Brooks; his mother, Gladys Prebehalla, his brother, Scott Brooks; and his sister, Lisa Hernandez.

Do not follow where the path may lead...Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.-Courage
