A very nice thank you from Gannatal family...

Dear Patriot Guard Riders,

I want to thank you on behalf of my entire family for the wonderful gift that you gave us by honoring our parents, Paul and Janet Gannatal.  It was a day that, as one of your captains said, showed smiles on our faces and tears in our eyes!  From the moment that you arrived to escort the urns out of the house, we all knew that it would be a special day.  Because of the location of the rental house and lack of safety for your motorcycles, you were gracious enough to bring riders and their flags up in cars, and then escorted us to the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial to pick up the rest of our relatives, and your riders.
During the ride to Miramar National Cemetery, your riders were able to surround us, in order to keep us together.  And then we arrived at the cemetery.  The Final Honor, horse and carriage, was there, as was the chaplain and cemetery representative.  Again, the honor and respect that your guard riders showed during the transfer of the urns from the car to the carriage was so moving.  You were with us the entire way to the Shelter, and to the end of the service.  The explanation that you gave of the Honors, the shells, and the framed explanation of the meaning of the folds of the flag, all made the occasion more special.

You worked so closely with the chaplain, Joint Services Command, Navy and the cemetery to make the event very special.  Mom and Dad would have been pleased.  We were all very much in awe of how special the day was for all of us.  It is a day that none of us will forget.  I will be forever grateful to the Patriot Guard Riders, and I appreciate that you will look in on Mom and Dad on occasion.
Thank you!

Sincerely,

Terri Gannatal Holcombe
