The family of John Crawford Scoby, age 72, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their Hero with his last ride and attend his military honors.  We are privileged to so do.

John Scoby served in the US Army from 1968 to 1971 and was last stationed at Drake Kaserne, Frankfurt Germany where he was a Red Eye Gunner.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.

John was an avid sailor and lived on a boat in Newport Beach, CA and Wilmington, CA for the better part of 40 years.  He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was never known to be without a motorcycle.  He loved riding together with his son and they had plans to bring his grandson into the mix as well.

John is survived by his girlfriend of 30 years Marsha Hull who passed away three weeks after he passed.  He has one son (John David Scoby), one daughter (Dawn Lee Wothe), five grand children and one great grandchild.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to his final resting place. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

NOTE: Please observe the latest “COVID-19” restrictions, have mask available if needed.

Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring
