The Patriot Guard has been invited to honor SSgt Ronald J. Marallo, a Retired USMC Veteran who served during Vietnam and Desert Storm. It will be our honor to do so.

SSgt Marallo honorably served our country for more than 23 years in the Marine Corps, from 1969 to 1992 when he retired. He first served on active duty during the Vietnam War (1969-1973), then in the reserves until 1990, when he was reactivated during Desert Storm. He was 72 years old at the time of his passing.

Following his military service, Ronald worked at General Motors, trawling and trapping shrimp and crabs, the US Postal Service as a Mail Carrier, and in the Movie Industry with SAG/AFTRA.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing basketball, racketball, fishing and trawling for shrimp in Louisiana, and surfing in Hawaii.  He had a passion for the Lord, Family, Military and Louisiana.

He is survived by his spouse, Janice Marallo; siblings, Rose Marallo and Gino Marallo; children, Donnamaria Katalinich, Faith Dalton and John Marallo; grandchildren, Joseph Jones, Blake Dalton, Hayden Dalton and Gavin Dalton; and Grandpa’s Baby Princess Kambria Dalton.

We will accompany Ronald’s family with his remains from the family home to the church in Menifee. Prior to the Celebration of Life, the PGR will provide military honors, including the playing of Taps and the folding and presentation of the American Flag. I will need some volunteers to assist in that...I will be at the staging site early enough so we can practice folding the flag prior to the service.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. All PGR members are welcome.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
