The family of Michael Frank Young, 75, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend Military Services for their Hero. We are honored to attend.
Mike was born on November 10, 1946 in Seattle, WA, and passed away on February 5, 2022 in Ridgecrest, CA, where he resided. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee Builder from 22 June 1965 to 22 June 1967; he deployed to the Republic of Vietnam with NMCB 6 and obtained the rank of BU3. His second deployment took him to Camp Whiskey in Antarctica. Upon completion of Active Duty, he cross rated to the Utilitiesman Seabee Rate, entering at China Lake, CA and served in the Reserves for almost 2 years. He was awarded the Vietnam Service
medal with Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations Insignia, Antarctic Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
After his service, he worked at Car Quest in Ridgecrest for 30 years and retired. He enjoyed shooting, cars, and the good times spent at DJ’s Pub, his “Cheers” Bar where everyone knew his name. His father, Frank, served as well in the US Army from 1941 to 1945 and moved to Ridgecrest after his military service.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carol, Mother Norma, Father Frank, Sister Cindy and daughter Carolyn. He is survived by his daughters Katherine (Rich) Merati, Lora (Mason), son Scott (Natalia) Eagles, nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
