The PGR has been invited by the family of SMSGT Francis “Frank” Edwin Shaw Jr., USAF, to attend the military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our Honor to do so.
SMSGT Francis “Frank” Edwin Shaw Jr. served in the United States Air Force for 33 years. He enlisted in 1974 and retired in 2007. He served several overseas tours of duty. was an aircraft Loadmaster craftsman on a C-141 and a C-17 some of his military involvements were during Somalia, Rwanda, Desert Shield Desert Storm Black Hawk down Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Some of his medals awarded during time of service were; Air Force Achievement medal, Air medal, Humanitarian Service Medal with 3 devices. Combat Readiness Medal with 7 devices, Kuwait Liberation Medal Saudia Arabia, Kuwait Liberation Medal Kuwait, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award 3 devices, and many other medals and ribbons.
After retiring from active duty and transferring to the reserves Frank became a high school teacher for 24 years. Frank loved to ride his Harley and spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His hobbies included chopping wood, hunting, fishing, anything outdoors with his dog, working with his hands and helping others. He will be dearly missed.
Frank is survived by his wife of 38 years Tina Shaw, his daughters and sons-in law, Jennifer and James Werner, Carissa and Thomas Hoshida, Katie Shaw-Carpenter and Kyle Carpenter, Crystal and Zachary Coin; grandchildren Jadyn, Joelle and Jillian Werner, Cortney and Taylor Hoshida, Emmit and Austyn Coin; siblings Cyndy Jaeger, Cecily Scala, Vivian Lamphear, and Michelle Wahl; and his mother, Lois E. Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank E. Shaw Sr.; and his brother, Dale Shaw.
We will be staging at the church with a flag line and accompanying to RNC for another flag line. This will be a very large funeral; many friends and family will attend.
The VFW will be there with riders who also wish to participate.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying from the church and standing a flag line at the cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. If you would like to go directly to RNC, please do so and meet us there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
