The family of ET2 John Anthony Deltoro, age 29, and the US Navy have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany this Hero from the funeral home to the airport as he is flown home to the State of Georgia for his funeral.  We will be honored to do so.

John Deltoro was serving with the Naval Special Warfare Tactical Communications Command - North Island, Coronado, TCC-1, when he perished in a vehicle accident while returning to base from desert training near Jacumba Hot Springs, East of San Diego.  Deltoro joined the US Navy in 2012 and was an Electronics Technician 2nd class.

Through the Navy, his family issued a statement noting that Deltoro was “a loving father, husband, son, and friend. He was truly devoted to his teammates and country,” his family said. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind sentiments. The support we have been given has been extremely well received."

Rear Adm. H.W. Howard III, commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, said in a statement that “thoughts and prayers are with the Deltoro family and our injured teammates, Deltoro “was one of our best combat support technicians, enabling our force to conduct highly complex and high-risk missions in the Nation’s defense,” Howard said. “John was an exceptional teammate, and we mourn his tragic loss,” added Capt. David Abernathy, commander of Naval Special Warfare Group 1. “We will remain in support of John’s family and will never forget his dedication to selfless service.”

ET2 Deltoro is survived by his wife, four children, and many other family members, friends, and his fellow Sailors.  He will be dearly missed by all and never forgotten.
