The family of Police Sergeant Matt Lewis and the Riverside Police Department invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his funeral services. It is with honor we do so.
Riverside Police Sgt. Matt Lewis was killed in an off-duty crash while riding his personal motorcycle August 1, 2022.
Lewis was a 25-year veteran of the Riverside Police Department, where he was a cadet, officer, detective and sergeant.
“We are saddened by the tragic and sudden death of our brother, Riverside Police Sergeant Matt Lewis,” Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzales said in a statement. “He was well-liked and admired, not only by those who he worked alongside with at our department but throughout the law enforcement community.”
Lewis, who was from Riverside, is survived by four children and one grandchild, Gonzales said.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
