The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend and honor a Hero from WWII who is also a Pearl Harbor Survivor, William 'Bill' E. Greenhouse, 98 years old.  We would be honored.

Bill Greenhouse served in WWII from 12 Aug 1940 to 26 Sept 1945, in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Master Tech Sergeant.

A great patriot, Bill was always proud of his service in the Corps and was a life member of VFW, Fallbrook, CA.  Bill was also an active member of Chapter 31, Pearl Harbor Association. He participated in chapter gatherings and also remembrance ceremonies at the Oceanside Harbor where the chapter has a monument.  He also was able to attend national gatherings of Pearl Harbor Survivors several times.  He was thrilled to get to go to Washington, D.C. on an Honor Flight several years ago as well.

Bill's wife passed away 15 years ago and they had no children.  Since that time his friends and neighbors have become his family and have stepped forward on his behalf asking the PGR to honor him.

We will begin this mission at the funeral home in Fallbrook and accompany this hero and his family of friends to Riverside National Cemetery for his service and military honors.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
