The family of TSgt Jose Nunez, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his service and military honors, we would be privileged to do so.
TSgt Nunez was born on July 26, 1962 in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1986 and retired in 2006.
While stationed in Biloxi Mississippi in October 1988 Jose became a citizen of the United States. After 4 years in Biloxi, Jose came back to Oxnard, where he joined the 146th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. He was deployed to LAX after 9/11/01, then to Afghanistan for operation Noble Eagle, then to Germany for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In his civilian life he worked for Camarillo State Hospital as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician/LVN from 1983 – 1996. Then 1996 – 2005 he worked for Santa Barbara Drug, Alcohol and Mental Health. 2005 - 2007 Ventura County Sherriff’s department, pretrial detention facility. Then California Youth Authority from 2007-2009. Finally from 2009 to present at the California Department of Motor Vehicles as a Hearing Officer.
Jose is preceded in death by his mother Maria Genoveva Nunez. He is survived by his Wife of 26 years Denise Nunez, son Tyler Matthew Nunez, and daughter Marissa Lee Nunez. Sister Maria Soledad Ford (Jack), brother Arturo Nunez. Nephews Brian Ford, Nick Ford, Chris Ford, Allen Ramos, Ryan Rotter and Niece, Sierra Rotter.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to his family's home. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
