The family of Gerald “Jerry” Jefferson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final farewell.  We are honored to fulfill this request.

Jerry Jefferson retired from the US Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1986 following 25 years of service to his country.  While in Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal.  He also received the Longevity Service Award with six Oak Leaf Clusters.

Jerry spent 20 years as a big rig driver, from 1993 until he retired in 2002.  He enjoyed playing pool, gardening, watching basketball and horse racing.  He was also a card shark!

Our hero is survived by his wife, Despina, and two children, Rosie and Jerry.   Two brothers, Harold and Raymond, precede our hero in death.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approximately 11 miles.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
