The family of John Kirwin Callaway has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
John Callaway served proudly in the US Coast Guard from September of 1970 to September of 1976. During this time, he obtained the rank of second-class petty officer and was a machine technician.
John worked in the family business after his time in the military. He also had many hobbies that included family racing activities, motor sports and building cruiser bicycles.
Johns passing was sudden and has left his family saddened and shocked. John is survived by his wife, Sheila Callaway; his daughter Marcella Lockhart of San Diego, California; and his son John Newman (Lucretia) of Arcata, California; his mother Roberta Callaway of El Cajon, California; his brother Robin Callaway (Teresa) of Alpine, California, his brother Todd Callaway of El Cajon, California, his brother Marc Callaway (Niki) of Mesquite, Texas, his sister Kimberly Miinch (Chuck) of El Cajon, California and his sister-in-law Susie Rodriguez (Michael) of Erin, Texas. John is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 7 nephews and 4 nieces and 14 great nieces and great nephews.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
