SEND OFF - Marines & Sailors - San Clemente - 07 NOV 22
« on: November 04, 2022, 01:00:08 AM »
The Command and DRC (Deployment Readiness Coordinator) of this Marine Unit have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to provide a Send-Off to one of their units and their brave Marines and Sailors who are deploying.  The least we can do is show these military men and women and their families that we support and appreciate what they sacrifice for us all.

We hear constantly from the commands of these units how much our showing up for these Welcome Homes and Send-Offs adds to the unit morale for their Marines.  Come help us give some small measure of thanks to these warriors who give us so much in return.  Let's bring our smiles, flags, hugs and support for these men and women as we send them off into harm's way and pray for their safe return home.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these Heroes.

IMPORTANT SPECIAL NOTES: This unit will be departing in multiple waves.   0900, 1000, 1200, and 1300.  If you wish to attend the 0900 or 1000 departure, be at Carl's Jr at 0800.  If you wish to attend the either the 1200 or 1300 departures, the R/C will return to Carl's Jr at 1100 to brief and escort you to the location. If you wish to attend ALL the departures, you are welcomed to do so and you must be at Carl's Jr at 0800.

Base security is tight, Do Not go to the gate ahead of time.  You will NOT be allowed to enter. The Ride Captain R/C will sponsor all riders into the gate.  You must have your Drivers License and proof of insurance with you and ready to present to the guards.   There is a gas station just inside the gate you can use to refill after your mission.  For those wishing to stay for the duration you can buy lunch at the small cafe there.

“Heroes rarely get happy endings. They give them to other people.”

Each motorcycle rider should have registration, proof of insurance. You should also wear hard sole shoes, long pants, full-fingered gloves, a long sleeve outer garment, eye protection, and a DOT helmet. A brightly colored reflective vest is no longer needed but recommended.  Have your I.D. ready when you arrive at the gate.

Due to OPSEC (Operational Security) limitations which involve troop movements and on-base activities, exact details of this mission will be explained at the Mission Briefing only.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage. Please ride/drive safely.
