The family of AE1 Felix Mejia, age 69, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for their Hero's final services, we will be honored to do so.

AE1 Felix Mejia enlisted in the US Navy in 1973 and served during the end of the Vietnam War and also during Desert Storm/Desert Shield.  He was very proud of the 20 years he served his country and loved his time in the Navy, he retired in 1993.

After he retired from the Navy, Felix was a Claims Specialist for the Veterans Administration until retiring again.  He was always very involved in supporting other Veterans and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Post 30, where he was Commander of the Post from 1997 to 1999.

Felix loved riding his Harley motorcycle and he also loved cars, anything on wheels pretty much. His wife still has 3 bikes in the garage, 1 is a Fat Boy, and a trike he called Fat Albert.  He would love that the PGR will be there to honor him on his final journey.

Felix is survived by his wife Julie, sons Felix and George (active duty Navy Submariner), sisters Rosalie, Rosy, Letty and Vickie, and 2 Grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
