The family of John Hernandez, 77, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the final military honors of their loved one. It will be our honor.

John served in the United States Army from August 1969 to May 1991. He was honorably discharged/retired at the rank of Sergeant. He served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

Following his service John worked at the West LA Veterans Administration Hospital in the medical supplies office for 20 years. He was a member and former Commander of VFW Post 10040, Sun Valley, CA. He loved his fellow veterans and people in general and would talk to everyone. John was also quite proud of his collection of challenge coins and pins.

Our Hero is survived by his children, son Ernie,  two daughters Carolina and Yvette. He is also survived by two grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.
